Participate In A Cannabis Study Through the University of Michigan!
The goals of the study include: to find out what kinds of pain are most commonly associated with medical cannabis use, the monetary costs of medical cannabis use, and to figure out whether there is a relationship between the effectiveness of cannabis as a pain medication and the type of pain that a patient has. If you are interested in being apart of the study, please follow this link. To read more about the research being done and the results found, click here.
The password for the study is omofmedicine. The survey has 40 questions and should take no more than 20 minutes to complete.
Help Bring Smiles to Children’s Faces With Open Heart Magic!
Open Heart Magic is looking for volunteers! Help support this great cause – volunteer as a Children’s Hospital Magician and help bring smiles and laughter to children in critical care. One parent said: “You know, that’s the first time I’ve seen my child laugh since we’ve been here. I can’t thank you enough.” To learn more about this wonderful opportunity, click here, or follow this link to apply. If you have any further questions, please reach out to Diego Gonzalez, at email@example.com, or Eric Steigerwald, at firstname.lastname@example.org. (http://openheartmagic.org/apply-ann-arbor/)
Food Gatherers Kitchen Volunteers
Since our members have been so charitable with our ongoing food drive, we are currently looking for volunteers to help with the Food Gatherer’s Community Kitchen on W. Huron Street. Volunteering will take place during the first week of each month, and shifts are 2-3 hours each. If you are interested in volunteering, stop in and sign up today so that we can continue fighting hunger in Washtenaw County.
Food Drive Update
Exciting news: If we raise 50,ooo pounds of food this year, we will have helped raise over 100,000 pounds of food! This year alone, we have already collected 20,000 pounds of food; and last year, we were able to collect over 33,000 pounds of food. We are so grateful to those who contributed! Our goal for 2016 is to raise 50,000 pounds of food – that’s 20,000 pounds more than our goal for 2015! Food Gatherers accepts both cash donations and food donations (dry, non-perishables, or canned foods), and you may contribute in either form right here at Om of Medicine. Help us reach our goal for this year and show Washtenaw county what we’re made of! Your support helps keep hungry stomachs full.
Please consider bringing in brand-new hygiene products, such as toothbrushes, razors, soap, etc. or a dollar or two to donate to this wonderful organization. It is simply not right that Veterans have to jump thru so many difficult hoops in order to obtain the benefits they deserve.
Om of Medicine is a non-profit organization that prides itself on giving back to the community. Not only are we dedicated to assisting registered medical marijuana patients and caregivers in obtaining medication in a safe and professional environment, but we also involve ourselves in a number of charitable endeavors. The positive impact of charities is considerable, and together we can make a difference. The following are examples of how we have reached out to the community.
