Ricky is a lifelong Michigander, a dual-degree holder from the University of Michigan, and an unapologetic advocate for safe, clean-testing cannabis. Ricky has been on the frontlines of social justice movements since the early 2000’s, cutting his teeth on issue-based advocacy campaigns for reproductive and civil rights across the Midwest. He has worked as a community organizer, teacher, and nonprofit consultant before joining the Om family in September 2019. Ricky dreams of the day when non-violent offenders are released from prison, their records expunged, and their dignity returned. He’s in this movement to de-stigmatize cannabis and restore equity to communities affected by decades of racist, classist cannabis prohibition. Ricky is deeply passionate about gardening, domestic and international politics, and spending time in the great outdoors. He is the proud father of a Bengal cat and proud alumnus of the Michigan Marching Band.
