Comedy Night

Comedy Night 1024 537 omie

Event Details

  • Date:

Our next free monthly comedy night is on Saturday, June 1st from 9-11pm (doors open at 8:30pm). Comedy Night is always a great time featuring hilarious local entertainment. This month’s comedians are Keith Bergman and Loyd Digg, hosted by the one and only Shelly Smith.

Keith Bergman started telling jokes eight years ago, after spending enough time in rock bands to realize he loved the road and hated tearing down drum kits. Equally at home in A-list comedy clubs and dive bars, he tours the country telling stories of mortality, poverty, fatherhood, home fries and getting old in a world gone weird. He’s released two albums, been on the Limestone and Whiskey Bear comedy festivals, his comedy has been featured on Funny Or Die and CollegeHumor.com, and he’s opened for the likes of Tom Papa, Fortune Feimster, Joe List, Sara Schaefer, The Amazing Johnathan and Guy Branum. He owns maybe four t-shirts without death metal logos on them.

Having started at a small bar open mic near his hometown of Detroit in 2011, Loyd (no, that’s not a typo) Digg can often be found performing in clubs, bars and the occasional comic book shop around the mid-west. He has worked at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle, The Holly Hotel, Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase and 313 Comedy at Detroit Shipping Co.

Digg highlights the ridiculous truths of daily life with just the right amount of edge to tickle and entertain. When charging through a rant, he builds up such gusto and fervor that folks are frequently left remarking, “He’s really energetic for a fat guy.”

Whether effortlessly eliciting laughter with obnoxious observations or offering funny fantasies for comedy crowd elation, Loyd is an ever-eager crowd pleaser.

Shelly has been producing and performing music and comedy in Michigan for over 15 years. She produces the yearly 50 First Jokes show in Ann Arbor, hosts a cannabis friendly book club podcast called Reads and Weeds, and started this very show here at Om of Medicine over 8 years ago and loves this place like a brother.
